| Vendimia At the beginning of the year, Domingo Delfino, enologist and wine merchant, commissioned artist Patricia Van Dalen an artwork that would be the image of the presentation box for the wines of the Christmas 2006 campaign, distributed by Viva Vino: a way of integrating Art and Wine, as may be learned through www.vivavino.net From this starting point of combining these two visions, and after the artwork for the box was specially produced, Van Dalen explored visually the world of wine thorough the creation of ten collages under the name of “Vendimia 2006” (Wine harvest 2006). For this she chose certain elements related to wine making, such as goblets, bottles and grapes, besides using informal elements -geometric, abstract, and with high chromatic contrast- characteristic of her work on paper. Van Dalen establishes a relationship between the universe of wine and pictorial language, since for her, both derive from the handling of noble materials after undergoing a process of reflection, besides intuition, and experience; both have an inherent poetry and trigger an explosion of multiple echoes that surge from the sensorial experience. The titles of the works, corresponding to the types of vine cultivated in our continent are as follows: Chardonnay, Cabernet, Syrah, Malbec, Sauvignon, Pinot, Carmènére, Merlot, Riesling and Muscat. The collages measure 80 x 60 cm, and Liquitex acrylic paints, Caran D'Ache crayons and pastels and Fabriano 600 gr and 300 gr papers were employed in their creation. The 5th. Floor of Tolón Fashion Mall, gastronomic center where Viva Vino Wine Bar & Restaurant is located, is where these artworks will be shown from the 24th of October until November 19th. 2006. |
